Faith and Business: The Footprints Floors Story

January 02, 2025

Footprints Floors is thrilled to share a recent episode of Dave Hansen’s Advisory Board podcast featuring our founder, Bryan Park. In this conversation, Bryan reflects on the principles that have guided Footprints Floors from the beginning, offering insights into how faith and perseverance have shaped our business.

Read on to see key moments from their discussion and gain a deeper understanding of the core values that continue to inspire and drive our company toward success.

Building Footprints Floors on Faith

In 2008, Bryan was facing significant obstacles in his life, including job loss and financial struggles. Despite these difficulties, he felt a strong calling to create something meaningful. That same year, Footprints Floors was established.

The inspiration behind our name comes from the “Footprints in the Sand” poem, a symbol of being carried through life’s trials and triumphs. This message resonates deeply with our journey as a company and continues to guide our mission.

During the podcast, Bryan emphasizes that Footprints Floors was not built alone, saying:

“The Lord built this thing. I just happen to be the steward.”

This perspective reflects the faith-driven foundation upon which our business is built. It shapes how we structure our operations, build our teams, and make decisions. At Footprints Floors, we put our trust in God’s plan and strive to follow His guidance in all that we do.

Faith’s Influence on Business Structure and Team Building

At Footprints Floors, faith is at the heart of how we structure our business and build our teams. We are committed to integrating our values of trust, kindness, and community into our professional practices.

As Bryan shared during the podcast:

“We’re called to love our neighbor, which is everyone.”

By operating with integrity and care, we create a workplace that thrives on trust, fellowship, and shared purpose. This approach strengthens our teams and reflects our mission to serve others with genuine compassion.

Maintaining Culture During Rapid Growth

As Footprints Floors continues to expand across communities nationwide, preserving the culture that defines us remains a top priority. Our values, rooted in faith, help us navigate growth while staying true to who we are as a company.

Bryan noted:

“Our faith ensures continuity and stability.”

This commitment ensures that every community we serve experiences the same level of integrity, quality, and care.

Infusing Faith into Business Without Exclusivity

At Footprints Floors, faith influences our approach without limiting who we serve or work alongside. We embrace a servant leadership mindset, dedicated to serving our franchisees, team members, and customers with equal care and respect.

Bryan emphasizes:

“We don’t treat believers or non-believers differently; we love them all equally.”

This commitment to love and acceptance helps us build genuine connections and create a welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of their beliefs.

Emphasizing Love and Self-Sacrifice in Franchise Interactions

Faith profoundly influences our interactions with franchisees and customers. These relationships are opportunities to demonstrate love through self-sacrifice, a principle that guides our business.

In Bryan’s words:

“Love at its root is self-sacrifice for the good of somebody else.”

By embodying this value, we aim to build stronger partnerships and create lasting impressions with those we serve.

Conclusion

Reflecting on the Footprints Floors journey, we are deeply grateful for the role faith has played in our company’s success. Trusting in God’s plan and prioritizing service to others remain central to everything we do.

Bryan Park

Footprints Floors CEO/Founder

Bryan grew up in south Denver. He attended the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO and served his country after graduation. Like most who serve, Bryan’s military experience strengthened his belief in, and commitment to, integrity, duty and leadership.

When Bryan and his wife Kelli settled in Littleton, Colorado they started a family…three rambunctious girls and two very big dogs. It was then, Bryan noticed that the flooring industry in Denver was highly inefficient and unscrupulous. It was nearly impossible to find providers who worked with a true sense of honesty and fairness. Changing this was not only an opportunity for Bryan, it was practically a calling.

“Putting the customer first and creating an impeccable reputation in this industry was Job number one,” says Bryan, about his goals for his future flooring company in Denver. He named it Footprints Floors and created a unique company structure that promoted the best in people, products, and business practices. It worked! So much so that Footprints Floors is one of the largest flooring service providers in Colorado and across the nation.

Park currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Wood Flooring Association. Under Park’s leadership, Footprints Floors has expanded to 150+ territories across the United States and was recently named one of the fastest growing franchises in America by Entrepreneur magazine.
